Phase I of the Eugene YMCA's future involves the construction of a 65,000 square foot facility at the old Roosevelt Middle School site. This location will serve as the main branch as the YMCA expands its reach throughout Lane County. Afforded the proper space and facilities to continue our work, we anticipate great growth in membership, but more importantly in our ability to positively impact youth development and integrated health and wellness in our community.

The land for the new location at the corner of Hilyard and 24th has been cleared and the option to own has been acquired. To date, the Y remains in a "quiet phase" of its fundraising to cultivate major gifts from philanthropists near and far who care about youth development, health and wellness and social responsibility.

We are on track with those efforts and you will see some activity at the Roosevelt site in January as we enter preliminary stages of geotechnical investigation (this means we'll be testing the rock and soil or the foundation of the site on which to build) while our team at Pivot Architecture engages in the design development phase of our project, creating more detailed drawings for future construction.
