Do you want to guide your kids toward building healthy habits? 5-2-1-0 Move More, Eat Well can help!
PeaceHealth pediatricians created this focused program to give kids aged 8 to 14 and their families the tools to embrace a healthy lifestyle. In short, 5-2-1-0 means:
- 5 = Eat 5 vegetables and fruits per day
- 2 = Spend 2 hours or fewer per day in front of a screen
- 1 = Spend 1 hour per day moving
- 0 = Drink no sugar-sweetened beverages
Program overview:
- Parents or guardians join the program together with their kids.
- Program includes 12 weekly, in-person group sessions. Each session is about 90 minutes.
- Participating families get a Y family membership to use between sessions for the duration of the program.
- A customized plan is developed for each young person in the program, based on scheduled visits with a medical provider, registered dietitian and behavioral health clinician.
- Program coordinators work with your family to help you follow the plan, keep your scheduled appointments and adjust the plan if your child's needs change.
