SPECIALTY FITNESS SERIES CLASSES

Our Specialty Fitness Series Classes are unique opportunities to explore health and wellness in small group settings. Series Classes include four weekly sessions, allowing you to discover new practices, build strength and connect with yourself and your community.

Please note: Series Classes are only available to Y members.


Aerial Yoga PlayPerson stretches while hanging from the Y's yoga swings
Aerial Yoga Play combines all the benefits of traditional yoga- flexibility, strength and balance with the unique conditioning for an exhilarating new way of approaching yoga. Sculpt your body in the air, using our special yoga swings, as you tone muscles, find balance, and increase flexibility. All levels welcome.

Cultivating Stillness

Come join a small group focused on balanced strengthening from the core out. This small group experience will be able to modify for individual needs and provide all the motivation you need to get to your fitness goals.

Small Group Trainings
Join a small group ready to get it, get it done and get going! This is a 30 min, no-nonsense circuit workout led by a certified Personal Trainer. In this workout functional training meets full-body strength and bursts of cardio. The small size means you get more attention while still getting motivated by working as a group. Currently only being offered for Y members.

WORKSHOPS

Our specialty fitness workshops offer the perfect environment to delve deeper into your practice, beyond what an hour-long class can provide. These boutique experiences cater to both seasoned practitioners and newcomers, allowing everyone to explore and discover new passions. Workshops are open to both Y members and community members.


Babywearing Y Bailando

The Babywearing and Bailando program offers parents a unique opportunity to learn about the benefits of babywearing, experience the joy of movement and dancing, and connect with others in a supportive environment. This training is particularly beneficial in the postpartum period, providing parents with a way to bond with their babies, get exercise, and engage socially; all of which are important for physical and emotional well-being after childbirth. This program offers a holistic approach to postpartum health and wellness and is also bilingual. Participants can expect to engage in activities and discussions both in English & Spanish.

This program is brought to our Y by Nurturely. Nurturely's mission is to promote equity in perinatal wellness and strengthen cultures of support for infants and caregivers through preventative knowledge-sharing, collaborative exploration, and proactive community engagement.

Nia Jam
Join us for a unique Nia class! The Nia Technique is a mind/body physical conditioning program that initially stood for Non-Impact Aerobics. This Nia Jam is a really fun opportunity for students to take a class with multiple instructors to fantastic music with Val, Kellie & Leah.

WARRIOR Fight & Flow
Join us for a release party for the newest choreography of WARRIOR Rhythm & WARRIOR Combat.

WARRIOR Rhythm and WARRIOR Combat are two invigorating fitness programs designed to awaken your inner warrior. WARRIOR Rhythm merges yoga, weight training, HIIT and mindfulness. Enhancing strength and balance through rhythmic flow. While WARRIOR Combat draws inspiration from boxing, offering high-intensity intervals, strength training, and music-driven fight combinations for an empowering experience. The fusion of these two WARRIOR formats will have you feeling graceful and fierce!

This event is open to members & non-members. Non-members will need to purchase a day pass for the facility.

MELT Method
Hands and Feet Session

The MELT Method is a set of techniques that are clinically proven to reduce chronic pain. By gently massaging the body, you will increase fluid flow through the hands and feet to the whole body's connective tissue (fascia) to reduce pain, stiffness, stress, and tension. By learning MELT techniques and practicing them regularly, you will improve your mobility, stability, and overall wellbeing.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)Y member meditates in yoga pose at the Y
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is an 8-week course designed from amalgamation of many years of training. It aims to teach mindfulness meditation and yoga to cope with stress and improve well-being. Participants may also conduct weekly home practice for up to 45 minutes in-between sessions. Workbooks will be distributed to guide participants through the course.

  • Intro / Orientation Sessions:
    • September 17th, 6-7pm
    • September 21st, 2-3pm

    • The Saturday Nov 9th session will be held as a Silent Retreat Day on Sunday Nov 10th from 1-7pm in the Yoga Studio.

EDGU
EDGU is a spinal movement maintenance practice and guided meditation. Similar to Tai Chi EDGU is accessible for all levels. The practice can be done seated or standing. It works on the spine and discs while moving the arm and shoulders through all possible actions.

Community members are welcome to join this special offering without purchasing an additional day pass, however they will only be allowed access to the facility for the time of the workshop.

Body Pump Launch Parties
Join us for this special Body Pump Launch Party! We'll have a 20-minute Technique Clinic where we lead you through the new moves to help you be successful with your form. Then a 10-minute break before we jump into the NEW CLASS!
